End of my first week doing Uber Eats

Friday was much slower than I expected and I thought it would was going to be the best day out of the week, but it was on par with the other slow weekdays for some reason. Saturday and Sunday had orders coming in a lot more consistently and I was determined to hit $300 no matter what. I did it, but at what cost?

My online time might be almost 40 hours, but not all of that was on the road. I left it on for hours at a time while I was at home too. But I did end up driving around 400 miles total (driving around for orders and driving for deliveries). Is this normal? How many miles do you typically drive per week? Luckily I have an EV, so it makes it a little better, but that’s A LOT of miles to be driving for that amount of pay. I would not want to be doing those kinda miles, or more, on a weekly basis.

Now that I have a full week under my belt, I have a little better idea of what spots I need to hit at what day and time. I’ll have to keep testing it out to see if there’s any consistency and to try to get more efficient at this. The goal is to hit the same dollar amount with less hours and miles if possible. Like I was saying in my original post, I intend to give this a full month before making any final assessments and decision.

Good luck on the road, guys!
