Surfshark Cheats Customers with Fake Unlimited Devices and No Refunds
Just wanted to share my recent experience with Surfshark, so others don't fall for the same trap.
I originally signed up for Surfshark because of their advertised "unlimited devices" and affordable long-term plans. Sounded perfect for a family with multiple devices. For almost a year, I used the service on fewer than 15 actual devices for my family and myself, though some devices had multiple Chrome profiles using Surfshark’s browser extension. This may have resulted in the number of simultaneous connections slightly exceeding 20 at times, but in reality, Surfshark advertises "unlimited devices", not a limit on the number of connections or browser profiles.
Out of nowhere, my account was suddenly blocked. The explanation? Their "automated system" detected "abnormal usage". What’s abnormal? They won't say. No numbers, no thresholds, nothing. After reaching out to support, I got nothing but vague copy-paste responses and was told my account violated their "Fair Usage Policy". I was never told what the actual limits were, and here's the kicker: Surfshark refused to refund me for the unused time.
Their whole "no-logs policy" is just an excuse to avoid transparency with customers. They can block you for any reason, refuse to explain why, and keep your money. So much for "unlimited devices" and "customer care".
If you’re thinking about Surfshark because of their big promises, think twice. There are plenty of honest VPN services out there. Don’t waste your money on this one!
For comparison: At least providers like PIA or IPVanish are very clear about what “unlimited devices” really means, and their policies are absolutely transparent—they actually honor what they advertise.
