Did an official diagnosis change anything for you?

Transitions and Change

I’m not sure if I’m using the flair correctly, but it certainly feels like a transition or change of sorts.

Basically the title. I am a middle aged person, and had my assessment today. I ended up being diagnosed as ASD 1. I was pretty surprised to learn from the psychiatrist that some things that I have to work hard to do/understand came more or less intuitively to neurotypical people. I know that I have not changed, that I am still me, but it does feel like my perspective has been knocked a bit askew.

I guess I’m just feeling a bit numb. I didn’t look up anything about ASD throughout the process because I didn’t want to create bias in my assessment, so it looks like I have some research ahead of me.
