On the Aprilia engine issue

Recently heard from a dealership that the first engine issue came from a dude in BLR who installed an aftermarket hyper-charger (or something, idr). Company apparently fixed it for free. Is it widespread enough for dealer’s claim to be false? Either ways they’ve now increased the warranty period, so that’s good.
