Shared house as a female with middle aged men
Hi guys, I gotta say I’ve been really stressed out and I need genuine help figuring this out.
I’m starting nursing school in the fall and needed a place to stay that was cost affective. I signed a lease and just met my roommates.
I’m 21, a female, and my roommates (mostly men) are maybe in their late 20’s-30’s. One of the roommates is my age and we signed the lease together (as in we both decided to live at the same place). She’s not as freaked out as I am, but I’m so scared.
I’ve never done this before, I’m entirely scared they’ll murder me or something. I don’t know, I mean I know it all seems like an exaggeration but I’m seriously scared and idk if I should break my lease.
I didn’t realize they’d be that much older.
I don’t know if I should move forward with this. There’s another housing option that’s with students (people my age), but if I break the lease I’m loosing about $1,500-$2,000.
What should I do?
If I do move forward with this, should I befriend a guy to show up every now and then? I don’t know how to navigate this and I feel embarrassed that I’m judging someone based on their age and looks. But, I’d rather be honest about my uncomfortable-ness to learn and hopefully learn something new.
