Don't always assume Chat GPT is lying to you...
I mean this in the context of personal discussions, still fact check it when you're looking for objective facts from the world.
A lot of people, including myself use Chat GPT for a range of personal assistance and assessment. We want to validate our ideas, find points to improve, and hope Chat GPT can help us grow.
Now Chat GPT has proven itself to have a tendency towards positivity because of course happy users keep using. Open AI makes money, everyone is satisfied. But I think we're too quick to write off the positivity and witch hunt for criticism.
As people have pointed out, Chat GPT feeds on your input. This should be obvious, but follow me here. If you asked a friend or family member to tell you their opinion on you, they'd probably talk favorably. If you really pushed them, they could drum up some criticism though. Compare this to Chat GPT, which tends to speak favorably of you, but when pressed, will drum up some criticism.
My point is that while Chat GPT can seem prone to over positivity, and its responses should be taken with a grain of salt, we should still be willing to consider the praise its giving us as much as the criticism we desire. Sometimes you really are just good at what you do, and you did make the right decision.
