Place to park/stay in van in December?

I'm hoping to attend a conference in Tempe in December. Is there a safe place I can "vanlife" in my van for a few days near the Omni Tempe or ASU? I can bring a bike, so it's no issue if it's a few miles away. Any suggestions appreciated!
