Retiring a wood humidor

Bit of a random question...

Im getting a larger humidor soon... can I retire my old humidor? Take the sticks out, get the boveda out and just leave it in a cupboard somewhere unhumidified.

Say i want to use it again in the future (a few years down the track) will it still be usable? Or will there be negative consequences to leaving it dormant for so long?

Of course id season it again etc...
