Rainbow-themed police uniform shoulder patches

Every year during Pride Month, my city's police department gives its officers the option of wearing a rainbow-themed variant of the usual police shoulder patch on their uniform. A fair number of them choose to do so (I'm guessing maybe a third of them?). I am interested to know how LGBTQ+ people would feel or react when seeing a police officer wearing such a thing on their uniform.
