Septum Piercing Pain

So I’ve had my septum pierced for about 3 years, almost 4 now, and its fully healed. I have a surgical steel horseshoe and I clean it daily with saline. When I got it pierced it took about 6-8 months to heal and has been just fine ever since. For the last few days though I have been feeling some pain in my left nostril on the piercing site. There doesnt appear to be any irritated skin, no pimples, no abrasions and I’m a little lost on why it could be hurting suddenly. Any advice? Similar scenarios?
