Light bleeding and mucus plug came out

I’m 36 weeks, second pregnancy and have been crampy all day. I’m 1-2 cm dilated already and as of today I had some light bleeding when I wiped. a couple hours later my some of my mucus plug came out and was bloody. I’ve been losing bits of it for a few weeks now but have yet to see any blood until this evening. Thoughts?
