Clubs in bag

Bit of a weird question but I know you can only have 14 clubs in your bag when playing but if your a beginner like myself and not looking to be entering tournaments etc is it ok to have more in your bag? Like I have 13 at the minute and will be looking at a 50 wedge for my 14th club but I’ve got my SW and 4 hybrid at home and think having them as an option on course would be good.
