Engine replaced, what's my risk going forward
Hoping for advice from the more mechanically savvy.
I've been experiencing the same recurring issue for years on my 2019 Kona. The progression is the same: the engine will rattle, then it will knock, then it will start stalling out. When I've taken it in, the service centers have done repairs that somehow fix the issue for a brief period, then it comes back.
This time around, the engine fully died on me. When I took it into the shop, they replaced the engine. (See the summary of issues and repairs below.)
I'm debating whether to keep the car at this point. Is there a chance that the replaced engine didn't fully address the underlying problem? Or can I assume that the only risk going forward is that the new engine is equally faulty?
