is surgical grade steel safe for a navel piercing ?

(not sure if i used the right tag) It’s been 6 months since I got my navel pierced and im looking for new jewelry. I like silver so i was looking at options and i seen surgical grade steel. i think thats what my nose piercing was pierced with but im not sure (its been two years and its healed just fine and i haven’t changed the jewelry since pierced). i also notice when i put expensive jewelry in any of my ear piercings it just irritates me, then only heals when i put a different cheaper product in them. My helix healed after two years when i put some cheap silver earrings from Claire’s in them. But im not sure how my belly piercing will react to “cheaper” jewelry. Is surgical grade steel safe? If not what silver options are better? What is the difference between surgical grade steel and stainless steel (or is it the same)? Online shop recommendation are appreciated too (preferably under 60$).
