Pocket universe/wormhole

Sometimes Jade had a more scientific approach on their situation. He tried to explain to Boyd that maybe they are in some kind of parallel universe and he explained that their souls and minds can’t be destroyed because of the 1st law of thermodynamics and later turns out he and Tabitha are recantations of some people they lived there in the past and they are on a mission to save those children. After the last episode we know that time travel is a thing. I don’t know how the monsters and the people getting manipulated by the place or the cicadas will be explained but I think it has something to do with what is this place in general. So my theory is that they are actually in a parallel/pocket universe where different parts of the forest exist in different timelines and the parts are connected by the tree that it works like a big wormhole. Maybe some numbers in the bottles are actually not only notes but they are like a map of what timeline is at a different part of the forest.
