When I began my IPMAT prep a few months ago, I gave a few VA sectionals. As someone who has a fairly good base in English, I was pretty good at grammar, could comprehend paracompletions nicely, I just seemed to be lacking mostly in vocab, idioms, etc. In my opinion, it's pretty subjective, you either know the word, or you don't, but it doesn't mean you shouldn't make the effort to learn words, you just have to do it the right way. I've seen coachings and other mentors share huge PDFs of "1000 most important idioms/words/phrases" and I just wonder, how is anyone supposed to cram a list so big, it's so boring, and passion is really important.

That's when I found flashcards on AB, used to be that no one really talked about it, but I gave it a shot. It was a game changer. I made it a routine to go through my flashcards twice a day, once after waking up and once before sleeping. I also collected words from EVERYWHERE. I didn't just define words on the platform, if I was watching a show or reading something and I came across a new word, I'd open AB on my phone and quickly add it to my list. It's amazing I was able to learn nearly 1400 words in just a few months time, and could do it smartly with spaced repetition (like how anki flashcards exist, feels like a simple enough upgrade to have honestly). Even though IPMAT is done, i might continue to use this feature, this is honestly beyond IPMAT, like a browser extension of this would be helpful lol.

Speaking of anki, my only suggestion for improvement is to make it more anki-like, allow students to customize the time the words should take to reappear, since 24 hours is pretty long, maybe I want it to appear an hour after lol. That's all!
