Advice needed with crust pants

What kind of pants and what size pants should I get to see patches on? I'm a teenager so my body is still growing, so should I get a size bigger than me? I have pants made out of stretchy thin denim looking fabric that I thought would be great but there are holes forming near the patches. (I tried posting on r/punkfashion but it won't let me)
