Doctor who and Transpeople
sorry for the title, it isn't very good. I was talking the other day and kinda stumbled into a good way to describe transpeople to others. Doctor who. As someone i knew was having trouble with the whole regeneration thing and how the doctor could have different faces and genders. Which considering they know some transpeople i explained it "well, it is like *blank's name*, they are a woman, but started off with the body of a boy. they are the same person, but they went though a transformation and became the woman we know today. they were always themselves. but she went from one body type to another."
Since that was easy for them to understand, i am thinking the reverse might be true. And now i see more doctor who stuff as feeling like gender identity adventures. And maybe regeneration is what we do to change forms now.
I wonder if this is a good way of looking at it or not. also i wish we could all end up in the form that suits us best as quickly as the regeneration scenes are.
