Ive never had a psychiatrist help

So my parents found out about my sh and are getting me a psychiatrist or therapist (they're leaning more towards psychiatrist) and I've heard a lot of bad stuff about psychiatrists and mixed emotions on therapists, so I'm wondering if I should be worried lol.
