Physics IA

My physics IA is investigating the relationship between the gravity applied to an aircraft and the wing area necessary for takeoff. This is theoretical and i was wondering if that is a good idea to not do an actual practical experiment. My sister did a theoretical experiment too and she got a 6, so i think its fine. Also, is this a good idea in general? I was wondering if anyone had any tips.
