My hospital roommate with dementia gave the most powerful motivational speech
During my stay at the hospital I was lucky enough to share a room with alice, a 75 year old with dementia. One morning she suddenly stood up and delivered a speech that had me completely in awe. We need to do more than lay here we need to help others but first we need to help ourselves. If we don’t move to help ourselves, how can we help anyone else? We can’t sit idly by we need to take charge and light a fire. Her words were unexpected and filled with so much energy and passion. Even with dementia, Alice had so much wisdom to offer, and I will never forget that moment.
