First time Adoptee SOS

Hey y’all I adopted a jack Russell terrier mix 8 weeks old and I have things that would ideally engage a young pet, I’m 24 and suffer with an unreal amount of social anxiety and I’m scared he’d not like me. Please make it as simple or complex as possible if any one would be kind enough to share with me about the first vet visit (cost) and mostly medical stuff other than how to train. I do naturally have a deep carrying commanding voice but I don’t wanna scare
