is it a dumb idea to camp at utah in the desert during the summer

Currently 19 years old and live in the midwest, life has not been great to me recently and so I want to plan a camping trip for myself. The desert in utah is a place i’ve always admired so i want to go there and camp there for at least a two nights. Problem is I know it’s the summer at the moment and heat will be a concern, I have my fair share of experiencing hot weather because of trips to Mexico in the summer with family. I know all the essentials needed but will it be enough? and does anyone have any experiences?
