Plot

Saint Dymphna’s House for the Nervously Afflicted is the most reputable place for the treatment of female hysteria in all of London. Founded by Dr. Edmund Blackstone in 1876, they take in women of all ages, of all classes, and provide the most modern and effective treatments, rendering these women fit for society once more, or at least removing the burden of care from their families.

But Saint Dymphna's respectable facade hides a more lucrative business. Behind the whitewashed walls, the aristocratic men of London pay to act out their fantasies with the patients. Under the guise of treatment, and the watchful eye of Dr. Blackstone, they are given free rein to treat the patients as their playthings, using them to act out their most depraved fantasies.

Possible patients

Ava, 19, the daughter of a shopkeeper, caught in a compromising position with the butcher's apprentice. Fiery, sassy, spunky. Diagnosed "likely nymphomaniac." Responds well to physical correction.

Constance, 24, committed by her brother to gain sole control of their family estate. Elegant, superior, haughty. Diagnosed "frigid." Suggest removal of virginity as first course of treatment.

Emily, 20, the unmarried third daughter of an earl, prone to solitary vices. Melancholic, mercurial, indecent. Diagnosed "chronic self-abuser." Possible sapphic tendencies must be corrected.

Possible clients

Admiral Angus Brighton, 47. A lifelong military man, fond of discipline and corporal punishment. Likes breaking in the new girls.

John Harrington, 25. A religious scholar, obsessed with sin, submitting to his lustful desires. A virgin.

Sir Reginald Barrie, 39. An idle aristocrat, able to indulge his various desires. Comes to the asylum because they will allow him freedoms the brothels will not.
