Rabbit's Foot

Besides the 10 heart group event and the community center is the rabbit foot needed for anything else? Does it actually give you good luck? I feel like since I got it in my inventory I've had more success with worms in the ground and foraging but may just be a coincidence. I wanna put it for the community center but am afraid of never being able to get it again! Is there a purpose to having it otherwise or should I just put it in for the community center?
