AIO? My (22F) boyfriend (23M) hid his instagram story from me

Hiya. So for context, I’ve got two separate instagram accounts - one’s my personal, and another one for my art / poetry. For the past 4-5 months, I’ve had my personal instagram account deactivated cos I needed a break, and only my art account was active. I follow my boyfriend’s instagram from both of my accounts. I’ve been with him for 2 years now.

Yesterday, I reactivated my personal instagram, and saw that my boyfriend had posted a story 15 hours ago. It wasn’t anything special - just a picture of his computer screen with a caption about how all his friends have graduated uni but he’s still stuck in med school and how it’s taking him longer. But then I realized I could only see this story from my personal and not my art account even tho I followed him from both accounts.

So I asked him about it, and he said he hid his story from everyone that followed him except his friends who were graduating this year. I was like whyyy would you hide it from me tho lol and he said it’s cos the joke wouldn’t have made any sense to me. Now, here’s the kicker: I’m in med school, too 😭 So obviously I understood the joke and plus I don’t think it was that deep of a joke that someone not in med school wouldn’t have understood. Also, even if it was something I wouldn’t have understood, I find it sort of odd that he’d hide the story from me.

The thing that’s bothering me the most is that if I hadn’t just happened to reactivate my personal instagram account yesterday I’d never have seen that. I asked him if he’d posted anything else whilst my personal account was deactivated but he said no.

Am I overreacting? It does seem so silly to get caught up on, but idk why it’s just rubbed me the wrong way.
