Seems like it makes the most financial sense to put the minimum house deposit down instead of saving for a massive deposit
I asked a question earlier around buying the more expensive house or the cheaper one and paying it off quicker. The responses I got highlighted that putting a 50 percent deposit down isn’t the best use of the money in terms of growing wealth.
From looking up some compound interest calculator it seems like the smartest thing to do is to put down a minimum deposit of 10 percent which in my case would be 45k and put whatever other savings I have into a stocks and shares isa.
Just checking if what I’ve put above is considered the correct way of approaching it, I was always told that the bigger the deposit the better but it seems like that isn’t really the case.
