NEED HELP!! Paying Cadet Scheme vs. Open Merit for SEECS
I don't have much information on the Paying Cadet and GHQ matter, but according to my understanding, the Paying Cadet scheme is only for military colleges like those in Rawalpindi and Risalpur, etc. I have the application form, and there isn't any CS program in the choice of disciplines. I presume its because of the application is for engineering programs only and it narrows down my options to just Software Engineering and Computer Engineering, and that too in the CEME Rawalpindi campus.
I am aiming for Computer Science from SEECS Islamabad campus and was applying through pure NET basis only. But since my dad is a WWP, I thought it would increase my chances of getting into NUST if I applied through the GHQ Paying Cadet scheme, even if it's a different campus.
My question is: since I want to go to NUST SEECS only and consider CEME Rwp as a plan B, what should I do? The Paying Cadet scheme does not offer a CS program, so if I apply to the GHQ scheme and give the NET, how does it all work out? If I score well in the NET but had also applied for the Paying Cadet scheme through GHQ, what would happen? Should I take my chances and just apply through the pure NET basis to get into SEECS? And if I apply for the Paying Cadet scheme, will I be allowed to opt out of the scheme and go for the H-12 campus if I get my name on the normal NET open merit list (not the army reserved one)?
I really need some guidance thank you!
