Would you say the Persona series is more popular in the West or in Japan?

I was just thinking about this today. I’m sure that it’s not as popular as say, Dragon Quest or Final Fantasy in Japan, but Dragon Quest for example isn’t popular or well known in the west as opposed to it being a big phenomenon in Japan. Meanwhile, Persona seems to be huge in the west and in Japan, but is it possible that it’s more popular among gamers in the West? Thought this would make an interesting discussion
