I feel weirdly tense when I think about how cities or corporations operate. Is this a thing?
hi, i wanted to share something that keeps happening to me emotionally — i’ve been feeling it for years but never knew how to explain it properly. recently i started trying to put it into words. it's not tied to personal trauma or any specific life event, it's more about thoughts i have when i reflect on the world
the feeling is strange — kind of like anxiety mixed with awe and this weird sense of heaviness. it reminds me of how i feel the night before school starts, or right before i have to speak in front of a big crowd. but what's weird is that it happens in completely different situations
like, i get that same feeling when i think about:
how cities get water through desalination and huge networks
how a company like amazon manages deliveries and warehouses so smoothly
how governments run entire populations, deal with crime, provide services
how huge restaurants prepare everything on time across branches
or even just how we deal with global waste and trash — how much of it exists, and where it all goes
it's not just me admiring how big these things are — it's more like an emotional overload. i feel small and weirdly tense, like i'm mentally trying to hold something way too big. sometimes i even feel a bit helpless, like it’s too much to process
it doesn’t throw me into a panic, but it does affect my mood and focus when it shows up. just wanted to describe it as best as i can so we can maybe explore it together
