Should I move to NYC with a remote job?

28M, finishing grad school, just landed a remote job making $175k+. I’m single, have a decent amount in savings, and want to build financial independence. I’ve always dreamed of living in NYC, have visited multiple times, and have a solid friend group there.

That said, I know dating and cost of living can be tough. Still, I’m looking to build a social life, find a long-term partner, and enjoy the city while I’m young.

Does it make sense to move to NYC in my situation?
