Walking near Milano Centrale at night

Hello, We are a couple with one suitcase arriving at around 00:30 to Milano Centrale.

As I’ve read in previous posts in this sub, the station itself is relatively safe since it’s patrolled, but when venturing outside it depends on the area. Our hotel is only a few minutes walk from the station, on via Soperga. Meaning to the north-east of the station.

Is it relatively safe to walk the distance? Or is it recommended to take a taxi for those few km? Should we get the taxi from inside the station or should we walk outside towards the east exit? Would there be a cost difference?
