What I've done to self improve even though life sucks ass
I'm a 28M who's never been able to get a girlfriend despite all of my efforts. Born with binder syndrome(causes fucked up teeth, recessed mid-face, and collapsed nasal bridge).
Was bullied all throughout middle and high school. Grew up in a toxic home environment. Plus I'm black and that makes things even worse considering we aren't favored among dating(and no, being the fetish of an obese single mom does not count). I haven't had actual friends since I was 12. Have struggled with racial identity, masculinity, depression, social anxiety, and ADHD.
- I've talked to multiple counselors and currently am in therapy.
- I have a nurse practitioner that works with me on finding the right treatment for ADHD and depression.
- Got braces at 13, rhinoplasty at 19 even though the surgeon didn't do the procedure properly.
- I have tried various hairstyles
- Updated wardrobe some years ago(way overdue for some new clothes now)
- Re-enrolled into university courses in 2023 but recently took a break because of lack of motivation unfortunately
- Made effort to meet new people and improve social skills by going to social events from meetup.com. Did board gaming, hiking, went rock climbing with one guy, and a lot of singles events.
- Used dating apps on and off for the last 8-9 years until I deleted them last fall. Barely ever got likes or matches.
- Approached/asked out lots of women in college, at job, social events, etc. Always rejected.
- Currently have locs, but recently my hair started thinning so I'm very sad about that but trying to do a lot of hair care to grow back the thin spots. Edit: Hair is fine now, no more thinning.
- Started back working out recently. Was mildly fit for most of my teenage years and early 20s(ran long distance track and did jrotc in HS + college afrotc) but have always been skinny.
- I've messaged many femcels and foreveralone women from reddit and discord only to be rejected and ignored by most.
- Used minoxidil to help grow a beard and thicker eyebrows.
