Roommate and I crossed a boundary, AITAH

So my roommate and best friend (20M) has been sending me mixed signals for months. He has a Gf (20) and I’m a guy (21).

For months now he has half jokes about taking naps together, once while drunk he asked me to sleep w them in her bed. She ordered me to leave the house.

We’re moving in together next year alone. He’s said we should get a studio maybe a dozen times. Once while drunk we were walking back to my place, the three of us, and he stopped and said why don’t you want to live w me there, and pointed at a little room at the top of an old Victorian house we saw online a few days prior. Then keeps grabbing my hand w his pinky walking back as she storms ahead.

He’s always grabbing my side and calling me pookie. Once, while drunk, he and my roommate carried me to the kitchen. My shirt fell up and he pat my tummy (as he puts it) and pulls my shirt down.

He told me he’s been w a he/him, vague high (weed) comment.

Once she was complaining to me about him and he told her I’m his friend first.

He constantly invites me to hers and anywhere that might be a date otherwise. She doesn’t want me there. She’s cold to me now, used to be one of my best friends.

We’re really close, lots of talks and fun, but alot of the time it feels like there’s more going on. Sometimes I have trouble deciding what is bro and what is more.

The thing is, and I could go on and on about little moments that felt like more is that we were in his room, she invited us over and we’re doom scrolling together. He says let’s just nap, and this time I do it. We nap next to each other. No touching. He said he didn’t want to go, let’s just make food at home, let’s just keep lying here. When we woke up he looked at me and said “was this ok? I think it’s ok, I think it’s good” and I said “yeah, it’s ok, it’s probably ok”

Then he doesn’t tell her abt it. Official secret now, and I feel weird about it. Like he wants to stay in limbo, that I’m now in the moral red for accepting the nap.

The days following it’s been extreme opposite. Really close, jokes and eye contact, then me saying we should talk and he locks himself in his room for hours. He missed work, we work at the same work, and I drove home to wake him up. He’s clearly depressed after this, but still pulls me in and makes a point to say goodnight every night.

I’m out, he’s not
