I think I will never read something as scary as Last Days by Adam Nevill (prove me wrong)

Recommendation Request

Hey everyone,

I'm looking for horror novel recommendations that feel like The Last Days by Adam Nevill. It's one of the very few books that genuinely scared me — not just creeped me out, but actually made me feel dread while reading. There's something about the atmosphere, the descent into madness, and the sense of something wrong just beneath the surface that really stuck with me.

The recommendations don't have to be similar in plot or setting — I'm more interested in books that evoke a similar emotional or psychological response. That oppressive, disturbing, almost suffocating fear that builds slowly.

I've already read most of Nevill’s other works (No One Gets Out Alive, The Ritual, Apartment 16, etc.), and while I’ve enjoyed them, The Last Days is the one that hit me hardest in terms of sheer terror

Any books that gave you that same feeling? I’d love to hear them.

Thanks in advance!
