Forgetting progress in a text based rpg

Despite telling chat GPT to remember my progress in a text based game it tends to hallucinate changing relationship details character details and traits, inventory. Is there a way to help it not hallucinate and change things as much? I do get the notification that it saves progress to memory and it retains it for 24-48 hours then suddenly hallucinates and changes major details.
