Ear stretching advice (lost my plug can I wear a taper?)

Hi everyone,

I've started stretching my ear again a while ago (i had them stretched once before but took it out). Now yesterday the plug i was using to keep the hole open after stretching fell into my drain and I couldn't recover it. I already ordered a new one that will arrive tomorrow, is it okay to leave in the taper until then so it doesn't close up? (Also I know stretching with tapers isn't great but since I had it stretched before I only used them up to the size they where to get them back open again, they slid through like butter)
