Is there any Philippine HIV/AIDS Statistic according to Social/Income Status, Education Level & Access to Internet? Because I seriously start to doubt it's just all about "lack of sex education" anymore.
Always ang mga nakikita kong statistics is about age, gender, sexual orientation and marital status. Pero I have yet to find any local stats pertaining to social status, education and access to information technology.
I always hear the reason always "lack of sex education" or that "pinoys, especially conservatives, shy away from the topics related to sex"
But as the latest report says, a good portion of the growing HIV/AIDS cases come from Gen Z (Ages 15-25), the generation you would normally associate with access to internet, information and holding more liberal values compared to their more conservative predecessors.
So for the sake of argument, they were "deprived" of sex education due to the familial, cultural and systemic deficiencies. There is a wealth of information accessible to everyone who has the desire, values and discipline to learn of it.
I may sound like the usual grouchy old person next door, pero late din naman kami naexpose sa sex education eh. But we turned out alright.
