You’re given $1000 for tools/therapy- what are you spending it on?
We recently were awarded a one-time grant through our state for additional therapy/tools for special education children but I have no idea how to best spend it. We've done OT and it was meh, but we could always try another provider. Any other therapy recommendations? It seems like therapy is recommended as a treatment but we've done play therapy as well and it seemed to not touch the issues we have.
There's an option to buy basically any sensory toy or adaptive technology you could ever want but of course they're kind of overpriced through the approved vendors.
I can pay out of pocket beyond the $1000 and am happy to, this is just a little kick to help get things going.
Biggest problems:
- emotional regulation
- sensory issues
- demand avoidance
