Is Literary Inference dead or maybe l'm just crazy💔
Maybe I’m just on the off side of things here, but I’ve seen some people say it’s just a theory that the girls in the wilderness were experiencing mass hysteria or group psychosis. Personally, I didn’t think the show was being subtle about it, between the hallucinations, delusions, and shifts in behavior, it really felt like the show was presenting their mental decline as part of the narrative. I dunno if it’s just me but it’s like some can no longer pick up on Inference based writing anymore ?
When an author provides enough information for the reader to logically deduce a fact or conclusion, without directly stating it. Now I’m not trying to declare something as absolutely canon if it’s not, but I do think the show gave enough clear cues for viewers to logically infer what was happening. But do some people really need things to be explicitly said word for word to not be able to just logically come down to the conclusion that this is what this is and what the author was trying to get across because of the damning amount of context shown built up to reach that point.
I’ve seen others say it’s the supernatural element of the wilderness influencing them and yeah, that can be true too! But two things can still be true at once ?
