I’m scared my older sister is wasting her life.
She’s in her early twenties, and she’s been in this rut for five years. I just want to help her, she doesn’t have her driver’s license or a job, still lives at home, she is severely depressed and unmotivated, but she gets sad when anybody tells her that she needs to help herself out of this. I know she’s wasting the prime of her life and that terrifies me. I’ve never said anything to her about this because I’m the closest person to her and I don’t want her to feel like I’m ‘the same’ as everybody else— I don’t want to make her think I’m trying to hurt her, or that she can’t confide in me. But I feel like nobody else can motivate her. I don’t want to be compliant in her depression. I want to fix all of this for her but I can’t. I just want to know what I can do or say to help.
