Taking the family to HoChiMinh city!

Hey! So my family of 4 are heading to HoChiMinh city early July. We are open to most food options/ suggestions, but are curious about what the reality is when eating food at restaurants and or street food. Is it usually safe and clean? Should I avoid anything in particular? Bottled water at all times? Or am I too paranoid? Suggestions always welcome! TIA :)
