Tingling and numbness throughout body — all tests clear, could it be stress?

Serious replies only

Hi everyone,
My husband has been experiencing a persistent tingling sensation throughout his body, along with patches of numbness. It's been ongoing for a while now, and it's really starting to affect him mentally.

We've seen two consultants, done extensive blood work, an MRI, and nerve conduction tests — everything has come back normal. One of the doctors suggested it could be stress-related, as my husband has a very demanding and high-stress job. But it’s hard to accept that explanation when the symptoms feel so physical and real.

We’re feeling stuck and frustrated. Has anyone here experienced something similar? Could stress really cause these kinds of symptoms? Are there any other specialists we should be looking into (neurologist, rheumatologist, functional medicine, etc.)?

Any advice, shared experiences, or recommendations would be really appreciated. I just want to help him get some relief — mentally and physically.

Thank you so much.
