Philippines - Boats or Planes?

Haven’t been to the Philippines yet but ig it’s just a matter of time. I’ve hear that it’s many small islands there, do people are just getting boats to get from a point A to B or is it small planes (I guess small, right?) The reason why I ask this question is because I struggle to get speed boats etc and I’m just having a really bad time when I have to jump on one… usually in Asia 😓 Thanks for the advices and answers!
