Rivendell set

To those of you that have this set. I have seen the measurements on the Lego website. But for you that have the set, could you tell me how you think they’ve measured it? I really want to get this set and I’m trying to find a spot for it at home but my shelves are a bit too shallow for it so fit somewhere. On the website it says it’s 50cm in width, where/how is that measurement taken do you think? Is it taken from the back on the main building to the edge of there the tree in the corner by the forge? I think the depth of the biggest shelf I have at some is some 40cm. Can I make it fit by rotating the set a bit? Or what do you think?
