Premium fruits in Sydney

Discussion

Hi everyone, I love it when I luck out and get great fruit, but wondering if there is a way of ensuring I only buy premium stuff as at least half the time it’s shits.

In Japan and a lot of other Asian countries you can easily find premium fruits, but it seems like there’s no demand for this in Australia?

Woolworths/Coles/aldi - take your pick, maybe 1 in 3 you’ll get something that’s nice

Harris farm - quality seems to be better than the big three, but still not hit and miss, 50/50.

Local markets/farmer stalls/stalls on the side of the road - mostly disappointing.

Flemington market - have to spend so much time to find the good stuff, and need to get there early. Mostly just good value, but not that great fruit.

Surely the rich and wealthy will have ways of securing fruit that always taste good? Or do their housekeepers buy a load of stuff, taste it, throw out/donate the bad and buy more of the good ?

I’d rather pay $5 for an orange. Than buy a kilo of them for it to not taste good.

Secondary question - anyone from a super wealthy family, I guess private cook/driver/housekeeper level, do you end up with sour kiwis, dry oranges, tasteless strawberries like the rest of us??
