When is a pay cut worth it?

Employment

I’m 25F and I currently am working a 3rd shift job with a pretty solid differential. I make roughly $73k a year… would be $61k if I was working the same job but on days. However I’m not feeling super comfortable with the job security in my current dept and there’s not a ton of room for career growth. (I am currently studying for a certification that I wouldn’t really use in another job but I would be able to get a pay raise in this one) I am pretty confident I am about to get an offer for another job that has better hours with significantly more potential for long term growth in a similar industry to what I’m working in now… however, the pay is $50k + up to 10k in bonuses (which are based on overall company performance) given other factors about the industry I don’t feel comfortable really taking the bonuses into consideration when it comes to my take home pay. I currently have no debt, 9 months of living expenses saved up, and a relatively solid retirement porfolio already. I live super frugally, so doing the math I would still be able to contribute 10% to savings and investing instead of the roughly 30% I do now. It’s a huge pay cut no matter how you slice it but my earning potential will be much higher down the line if I switch careers. How do you decide how much sacrifice is worth long term gains?
