Menopause, PCOS, and depression and anxiety

35F PCOS with depression and anxiety. I take 100 mg sertraline and depo Vera. Depression is currently minor chronic depression that gets worse with stress or triggers. GAD is currently minor. Both developed before 10 but lacked treatment until my 20s

PCOS diagnosis 2024, symptoms started prior to 2005. Depovera started January 28 2025. Based on my singing voice (progesterone affecting the mucosol membrane (sp)) and increasingly irratic periods I suspect that my progesterone started dropping around 2020-2021 as my singing voice drastically changed negatively and this was reversed on depovera.

Fall 2023 I had burnout turn into major depression at the same time I suspect that I had a drop in progesterone at this time as my periods went from every 3 months to every 6 months. There were also personal and work related issues that majorly triggered the major depression episode. But unlike the major depression I experienced from 10-22ish. I had active suicidal urges that the meds didn't stop (make 70% less frequent and less severe) , and an inability to function. Like my place was headed to hoarder dirty. And I couldn't cook pasta. My doctors response to symptoms still affecting me was that I shouldn't expect complet symptom relief and just put more effort into life and it will magically make me fiction. 20 years of struggling with depression disagrees with this.

When I got on depo that drastically changed I started feeling alert when I woke up and all the new symptoms went almost completely away.

And I just realized that if I'm right that the depression was made more treatment resistant because of my PCOS and related low progesterone, that means I am at risk for this when I am going through menopause or post menopausal. Is there any treatment for this?
