Anyone done a posting in Germany recently? What’s it like now?

Heard some rumblings that more units are doing stints in Germany again. I know the old days of Osnabrück and BFG are long gone, but what’s the vibe like nowadays? Is it still considered a decent posting? How’s the accommodation, the local area, and general day-to-day? Just wondering if it’s worth putting down in my preferences when I get the chance.
