I don’t remember what my baseline was before diagnosis
For context, I’m a 24F (25 next month) and last year my symptoms progressively got worse before I even knew what was happening.
I’m a bedside RN who works 12 hour shifts on my feet all day long. It started with just a little lightheadedness around mid morning to lunch time that usually went away when I ate lunch. Then one day at the end of June 2024, the lightheadedness and dizziness started way earlier in the morning and only progressively got worse and caused vertigo despite how much I ate or drank. Went to the ER, ortho vitals were super positive, vertigo persisted, and I stayed tachy. August 2024 I got a diagnosis after a tilt table test and went back to work that month with LMNT packets and ice packs. It’s been going on a year now of me learning how to manage my symptoms and, it’s never full proof, but I understand my body better and little tips and tricks that help (sometimes?).
Anyways, I digress. But does anyone else struggle with not knowing if they’re so tired from the POTS? If that makes sense. Like I think I’m more tired now than I was but I’m not even sure. I just constantly feel exhausted from doing the bare minimum tasks during the week even though it’s not a lot for other people. And it’s possible I’m just gaslighting myself but I just feel so guilty and lazy for not having energy for things that other people do. Like I’m making excuses or I’ve just deconditioned myself. I just really wish I remembered how my body felt before this diagnosis.
Sorry if this has already been covered before, and I’m sure it has, but it’s been on my mind for a while. Also sorry if I’m rambling lol.
TIA for any replies 💗
